Broome - Wyndham or reverse
NIGHT 1: WELCOME ABOARD
Your adventure begins when you board Matrix in Broome at 5.00 pm, enjoy a drink and meet your travel companions. We cruise with the sunset and then have dinner and settle in for a nights cruising to the Buccaneer Archipelago.
DAYS 1 & 2: YAMPI SOUND - COCKATOO ISLAND - TALBOT BAY - RAFT POINT
The morning sees us cruising through Yampi Sound and past the famous Cockatoo Island. We will visit Crocodile Creek for a refreshing swim before heading to the magnificent Horizontal Waterfalls. Take a thrilling dinghy ride through this amazing tidal phenomenon and view the magnificent landscape of the surrounding lakes and inlets. Discover No Name Creek, try your luck fishing for a Barramundi and swim at Ruby Falls. Explore the magnificent ancient Wandjina paintings during a visit to the cliffs of Raft Point, and experience a breath taking view of the islands from the top of Raft Point.
DAY 3: SALE RIVER - MONTGOMERY REEF
Wake up in the Sale River and chase some Barramundi before enjoying a swim in a beautiful billabong. When the tides are right
we head to Montgomery Reef where over a hundred square miles of coral reef rises out of the ocean as the tide recedes. The amount of sea life that collects in the channels has to be seen to be believed, including turtles and dugong.
DAY 4: CAMDEN SOUND - KURI BAY
We cruise towards Camden Harbour passing through Kuri Bay, a Paspaley pearling operation. We visit the area where Victorian farmers tried to settle , without success, and inspect the ruins. There are large Kimberley oysters to be collected here for dinner after which we head for St George Basin.
DAY 5: ST GEORGE BASIN, PRINCE REGENT RIVER , KINGS CASCADE
The St George Basin is spectacular and is the location of the Kings Cascades. We will tie up right alongside the falls for a
refreshing shower under the falls. Explore the magnificent refreshing pools and pockets of forest.
DAYS 6 & 7: PRINCE REGENT RIVER - CAREENING BAY
Camp creek is to be explored today with a short hike and swim in a beautiful pool at the base of a waterfall. We head to Careening Bay to visit the site where Philip Parker King carved the name of his vessel the HMS Mermaid into a boab tree. Cruise to the Hunter River, which is great for fishing and crabbing , and then onto Bigge Island to view aboriginal paintings depicting of early settler ships visiting the Kimberley.
DAY 8: MITCHELL RIVER, SURVEYORS CREEK
Overnight cruise to the Mitchell River in search for some morning Barramundi. The afternoon will be spent at Surveyors Creek for a swim in the refreshing pool. Helicopter trips are available at the Mitchell Plateau.
DAY 9: VANSITTART BAY - BRADSHAW ART
This area is famous for it's Bradshaw paintings - ancient rock art that predates the Wandjina paintings.
DAY 10: DRYSDALE RIVER - KING GEORGE RIVER
We explore the Drysdale River's gorges and waterfalls today before heading to the King George river.
DAY 11: KING GEORGE RIVER
A spectacular river with breathtaking cliffs that run the length of the river which terminates in one of the largest and most
incredible waterfalls in the region, the King George Falls.
DAYS 12 & 13: BERKELEY RIVER - WYNDHAM
Another spectacular river with great fishing and incredible wildlife. The last chance for the fisherman to land a big one before heading overnight to Wyndham. Arrive in port Approximately 7.00, enjoy breakfast before being coached to Kununurra at approx. 8.00am.
